A second recruitment project was undertaken by the Scottish Government to recruit new members and conveners.

SECOND ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS TRIBUNALS FOR SCOTLAND 2006/2007

The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 places a duty on the President to prepare a report, to be submitted to the Scottish Ministers, each year on the work of the Tribunals during the preceding year from 1 April to 31 March. The President has now submitted her report for 2006/2007 to the Scottish Ministers. Your can download a PDF copy of that report by Link opens in new windowclicking on this link. This report covers the first full operational year for the Tribunals and it will be of interest to all Tribunal users and those involved with children and young people with additional support needs.

April 2007

Anonomised decisions are now available to search via the 'Decisions Database' link on the homepage of this website.

March 2007

The President intends in due course to publish decisions. These decisions will be published in such a way as to protect the anonymity of the child or young person concerned. It is intended that they will be published electronically within an area of this website. This will not take place until a reasonable body of decisinos are available.

February 2007

A Tribunal User Group event was held on 9 February 2007 at Perth Concert Hall. A report on this event can be viewed here. A related statistical document handed out at this event can also be viewed here.

June 2006

The first Annual Report of the President of the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland was produced. An online version of this report can be viewed here. Alternatively if you require a hard copy, please contact the tribunal administration.

Early 2006

Tribunal User Group (TUG) meeting were held in both Glasgow and Edinburgh for potential users of the Tribunals and local authorities. A report summarising the TUG events can be viewed here.

14 November 2005

Commencement of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004. As of this date the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland can now accept references from parents or young people.

Early November 2005

The successful members and conveners of the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland are announced.

24 October 2005

Jessica Burns appointed as the President of the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland.

3 May 2005

Commencement of Section 17 of the 2004 Act, bringing the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland into being.

21 March 2005

Tribunal website goes live.

17 March 2005

Appointment regulations laid before the Scottish Parliament

October - December 2004

Appointment regulations published for consultation.

7 May 2004

2004 Act received Royal Assent.
