Mrs May Dunsmuir was appointed as the third President of the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland on 12 May 2014; together with 11 conveners and 17 members  they form the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland (ASNTS).

The ASNTS administration team is called “the Secretariat”.  The Secretariat is made up of the ASNTS Secretary and case officers.  The Secretariat provides administrative support to the President, to ensure that every case is provided with a high level of service and attention. The Secretariat is the point of contact for parents, Education Authorities and anyone with an interest in the ASNTS.

The Secretary is Hazel McKay, who is responsible for the management of all administrative matters relating to references and claims and for the case officers involved in the clerking of hearings.  The Secretary is also responsible for the administration and management of the ASNTS website.

The Secretariat is responsible for the case management of every reference or claim.  This will include communication with parties on a range of matters, e.g. the dates for case conference calls and hearings.  The Secretariat will copy and collate the necessary papers for cases, arrange hearings and deal with correspondence and questions from  parties involved in the reference or claim.

The President has a PA/Member Liaison Officer, Lynsey Brown, who is responsible for a range of matters, which include managing the President’s diary and liaison with the ASNTS membership.  If you wish to contact the President, you should contact Lynsey Brown in the first instance.
